Online Therapy
I conduct all sessions through a HIPAA compliant and secure video platform. While I know this may not be everyone’s preference, I have found incredible benefits to this. I truly believe the ease and popularity of online therapy was one of the silver linings that came from the global pandemic. It has changed the way therapy is conducted and truly can be accessed at the touch of your fingertips.
Why online therapy?
- Treatment is more accessible in general.
- Accessibility for people with physical limitations.
- Eliminates the need for a possible babysitter.
- Can still conduct session if you are not feeling 100%
- No being late to your appointment due to traffic.
- Allows you to be as comfortable, both physically and mentally.
- You can create your own space for your session.
- Provides a sense of security and safety.
- Can decrease anxiety for those who fear leaving their house, driving, etc.
- Scheduling flexibility- lunch break option.
- Good option for those who live in remote areas who may not be able to easily access services.
How to know if online therapy might be a good option for you?
- You work long hours and find it difficult to schedule in your therapy appointments.
- You work from home or have the option at work to take a lunch break.
- You have a long commute to or from work which causes you to be late to appointments, dinners, after school sports, etc.
- You live in a remote area with not a lot of therapists close by.
- You are home with your children and it can be difficult to find a babysitter or juggle your children’s schedule.
- You or someone close to you has a compromised immune system.
- You feel more comfortable in your own space in your comfy clothes.
- You don’t like driving when it’s dark out, bad weather, cold weather, etc.
- You feel comfortable in front of a screen and are somewhat computer savvy.
- You want to effectively manage your time (no wasted time commuting to and from sessions).
